Community

 In term 1 we learned all about what needs to be in a community. In Room 6 we designed our own community, inspired by this learning Kiara, Zara-Mao and Cataleya created their own community in the domain out of nature. See it in the picture below.

Duffy Books

 In the last week of the term we received our Duffy books, we watched a video about a role model and how reading had led him into making movies and acting in some famous films (Lord of the Rings, Hobbit)

We cannot wait to read our books, thank you Duffy!

Swimming Week 2

 This week focused on water safety, how to enter the water safely, how to keep warm and together when in the water and how to get into a boat safely.

Crazy Scientists

 On Thursday Room 6 did some science. We were learning all about carbon dioxide! We learned all about how to be good scientists and that carbon dioxide is what makes the bubbles in lemonade (and other fizzy drinks). We then got to test what liquids make carbon dioxide when combined with baking soda. Lastly we saw that vinegar and baking soda can make enough carbon dioxide to inflate a balloon! It was lots of fun!

All of the experiments can be done at home. If you try some make sure you take pictures to share with the class!
