Be Kind

This term we have been focusing on what it means to 'Be Kind'. This is one of our school virtues and we have been practising it through different activities such as compliment tag, common ground (finding the different things we have in common) and making be kind posters.

Today we learned about teamwork and tried to work in pairs to stand up together from sitting on the ground. We then moved on to learning about how we can be kind by listening. We had to split into pairs and take turns to ask and answer questions, as a way to get to know one another and practise our conversation skills.

P.E.

On Friday we met our new P.E. teacher Michael. We learned some basic football skills, passing and trapping the ball and playing a game of football. It was lots of fun and great to learn a new sport. We will also be learning to play hockey this term.

What is your favourite sport to play?

Liam’s foot step challenge.

Liam created a boat for the technology and science challenge in our Footstep Quest. He worked really hard to make it waterproof. See his boat below in the photos

Cross Country

On Friday the 13th of May we had our school cross country. The students had been practicing for the race all term - we even set ourselves a goal to run to a different city by completing the cross country each day.

I was so proud of how they ran and the effort they put in, they definitely showed the virtue of seeking excellence by persisting. See the exciting start of the race in the photos below.

Musical Room 6

Mrs Moore has been teaching us all about making rhythms and reading notes for music. See the rhythms we created in groups below. They had to include a crotchet (1 beat), a quaver (1/2 beat) and a semi-quaver (1/4 beat).

Leisha's Boat

For the Footstep Quest challenge, Leisha created something that could float. Check out her boat below
